THE YELLOW RIBBON SOCIAL CLUB

The Yellow Ribbon Social Club is a group for active seniors 55 and older. We meet every Wednesday at 425 Sherbrooke West (corner of Durocher) from 12:45 to 3:30. Seniors engage in a diverse range of educational, cultural and artistic activities.  Currently we have a qualified tai chi instructor who leads the group in weekly gentle stretching and movement exercises (12:45-1:30pm).  It is a great way to meet other seniors in the area and to remain active.

New Social Club Initiative!!

You may ask what`s new at the Social Club. Since October 2008, selected members of the Yellow Ribbon Social Club have been participating in a special project through the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts Education and Public Programmes Department.

The goal of this project is primarily that of developing important connections between generations, as well as building bridges of understanding, respect and reciprocity between students and seniors. Through creative workshops, art based activities, visits of various exhibits and opportunities for exchange and dialogue, the project will encourage younger and older participants to communicate with one another, learn from and about each other, and share new learning experiences.

Please stay tuned for more information about an upcoming vernissage that will mark the culmination of this exciting collaboration!
