COMMUNITY MUSIC
Want to be part of a music group, whether you've never touched an instrument or are already a pro?
Want to play music from the heart, where there are no mistakes?
Come check out our weekly "No Wrong Notes" sessions based on a community music model!
Each session we provide a number of different drums, a guitar, and a piano for participants to play. There are always instruments (ie. hand drums) which you can play even without musical experience. Then, usually with the help of different improvisation games, we improvise music together. Depending on the session and how comfortable participants are, we also do vocal improvisations (just using your voice to make sounds/music).
Our goal is to provide a welcoming atmosphere, as well as the instruments and structure necessary for people of any background, age, or experience, to enjoy making music. Making music together can help to build community, boost confidence, allow for emotional expression, and relieve stress. Although this type of free improvisation can seem intimidating at first, we try to make it fun instead!
Bring your own instrument(s) if you wish or just bring yourself.
See the calendar for the schedule, and email Clara at clara.troje@gmail.com with questions
All are welcome!
