The process to sign up is fairly straightforward: (1) review the list of CURRENT VOLUNTEER NEEDS in the chart below - these are the positions we need filled & hopefully one of them is of interest to you; (2) complete the VOLUNTEER APPLICATION linked below the chart; (3) wait to receive an EMAIL from our team with next steps.

Minimum 4 months; 1.5 - 2 hrs/week; flexible hours |

You will be matched with a senior & meet with them weekly at their home; break isolation, provide emotional support and form a friendship. |
*Comfortable with one-on-one conversations. *Willingness to share & build close relationships. *Active listener *Self-organized, reliable, & committed. |

Every second Thursday from 3- 5pm |

You will be paired with a senior to answer their tech questions. |
*Patience and the ability to accommodate different learning paces. *Proficiency with technology (Apple and Android devices). *Comfortable in a group setting. |
Wellness Groups |
Film Group |
Every second Thursday from 3-5:30pm |

Select films, project chosen films, and lead a short discussion following the viewing. |

STEP 2: COMPLETE THE VOLUNTEER APPLICATION
We are working on updating our volunteer application & in-take process to make it more clear for new volunteers. During this time, we will not be taking new applications - check back soon for updates!
STEP 3: WAIT FOR AN EMAIL
Once we receive your completed application, we will email you with more information & some important documents to make sure the role is a right fit for you! After we will set up a time to meet (in-person/online), where you will learn more about volunteering at YD and be able to ask any questions you might have. Training for all roles will be provided.
