Innovate
Keep an eye on this space for details on some of our new projects, aside from our main programs. We are always looking for more ways to bring in people of all ages and get them active together, and within the community. For example, opening our space for school clubs and groups, or the Coffeehouse as a study area for several hours a day. Are you completing a Graduate or Undergraduate thesis and would like to present your work to a group of varied but like-minded individuals before you defend or write your paper? We want to find the best ways for young people to exchange knowledge and grow, outside the classroom. If you can help us achieve these things, let us know!
We have a young team, one that has been around for a few years, with a variety of work experience. We are all in our late 20s and early 30s. In order to revitalize the organization, we are looking to better represent The Yellow Door through social media and marketing, as well as expanding our positions to allow for easy expansion of our programs. With guidance from our open and ambitious Board, we have the goal of becoming a bastion of people of all ages in the Downtown area, all while returning to our roots as a community of misfits, artists, social entrepreneurs, activists and, quite simply, good people.
Understandably, we are always looking for ways to improve our services! Our Generations program, for example, has been given another very strong foundation in terms of referrals due to a project done by a team led by regular volunteer Fatima Khan (Thank you!). Below, you can see the fantastic directory of elderly and health services put together by her and her team. Use it at your leisure and for your job, we know we sure will!
