The Yellow Door runs intergenerational programs and activities that aim to bring youth and the elderly together
in the promotion of mental and physical health and the prevention of urban social isolation amongst all ages.

We aim to do this through the following programs:

Surveys

The YD is committed to implementing realistic monitoring and evaluation plans so we can assess our programs’ effectiveness and improve upon them as needed. Over the past year we administered long-form surveys, the result of a year-long strategic plan, measuring the well-being of seniors involved in our programs. While we were able to collect some data (58/170 surveys completed), we discovered that our survey was too long, taking 40 minutes and asking too personal/depressing questions. This information will be used to redraft future surveys.

We acknowledge that The Yellow Door is situated on unceded Indigenous land, as it was taken without treaty or agreement. We recognize the Kanien’keha:ka Nation as the custodians of Tiohtia:ke (Montreal), a traditional meeting place with other Iroquoians and Algonquians, including the Algonquin-Anishinaabe, Atikamekw and the Huron-Wendat. We stand in solidarity and in action in supporting the journey towards reconciliation.
